Nick, first of all, where on earth did you come up with the name?
There’s a street in the town David and I grew up in Villa Park, California called Radec, and we were just throwing names around…. We drove by Radec Street and Dave was like “Radec,” and I was like, “Idol” and we were like, “OMG IDOL RADEC.”
Wow, that’s some real stars aligning type shit. OK, describe IDOL RADEC in as few words as possible.
Modern Americana
Now describe IDOL RADEC in AS MANY words as possible.
IDOL RADEC is a classic American men’s collection, whose inspiration has been drawn from culture, education, and refinement. It is influenced and inspired by an era when men dressed with confidence and purpose. IDOL RADEC’s fit, construction and materials all share this rich philosophy. We are heavily inspired by film, and extraordinary directors such as Antonioni, Kubrick and Goddard.
Awesome, awesome and awesome. Three of my personal faves as well. So, your stuff is on all sorts of CELEBS. We at PAPERMAG love celebs. Who have you found it most enjoyable to work with?
We actually love celebrities too. Truly, we can’t get enough of them. I have enjoyed all of them so far, but if I had to choose I would say James Franco.
He’s a good guy to have your wearing your clothes. But I know a lot of people who’d prefer if Mr. Franco would just leave the clothes OFF. So, say I’m a guy who doesn’t work for Lehman Brothers and I happen to have a shit ton of money and I wanna go crazy and buy all your stuff. Where can I do this?
At Oak NYC, Fred Segal and Barney’s Japan, to name a few.
Well, yeah, I’m definitely interested in heading over to Osaka RIGHT NOW for a buying binge at Barneys… OK Nick, let’s talk business: What are some projects/ideas you have brewing?
We are working on expanding the product offering to accessories, potentially footwear down the road and hopefully a women’s collection.
